Stilian Ivanov, a Bulgarian director, producer, and screenwriter, was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria. He excelled in his studies, graduating with a gold medal from the National Natural and Mathematical High School in Sofia. His passion for filmmaking led him to pursue a Master's degree in Directing from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Bulgaria (1994), where he studied under the esteemed Professor Hacho Boyadzhiev.

Career at the Bulgarian National Television

During his student years at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, Ivanov began working at the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) in 1992. His first television program, a language education show titled "Do You Know Bulgarian?" (1993), showcased his talent as a director and co-author. From 1993 to 1995, he produced and directed numerous entertainment programs, including "My Prayer," "World for Two," and "Musical Wonder Case."

As a Renowned Director and Producer

In 1995, Ivanov took on the helm of ambitious television productions, often serving as both director and creator. His notable works include documentary portraits of renowned Bulgarian figures, such as folk singers Valya Balkanska and Nadka Karadjova, musician Theodosi Spasov, pop-folk singer Kati, director Hacho Boyadzhiev, pop singer Emil Dimitrov, psychic Vera Kochovska, and folk healer Peter Dimkov.

Ivanov's directing mastery was particularly evident in his film "Flight Over the Night" (Part 1), which explored the life of the Bulgarian prophetess Vanga. The film captured the attention of audiences both in Bulgaria and Russia, becoming a staple on BNT's satellite channel and earning invitations for Ivanov to appear on popular Russian television programs.
