Biography of Susi Kentikian

Susi Kentikian is an Armenian female boxer who competes for Germany. She is the current world champion in the flyweight division among professional women boxers, according to the WBA (since 2007), WIBF (since 2007), and WBO (since 2009) versions.

Early Life and Immigration

Susi Kentikian was born in 1987 in the Armenian SSR. In the early 1990s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Armenia faced difficult socio-economic conditions due to blockade and military actions in Nagorno-Karabakh. In this challenging situation in 1992, the Kentikian family decided to leave their homeland. At that time, Susi was only 5 years old.

Following their emigration, Susi Kentikian periodically lived in Germany, specifically in Hamburg, while seeking refugee status.

Boxing Career

In 2007, Susi Kentikian achieved remarkable success in her boxing career by winning championship titles in the leading professional boxing organizations. She became the world champion in the flyweight division in the WBA and WIBF versions.

In 2008, Susi Kentikian was granted German citizenship, solidifying her connection with her adopted country. Since then, she has continued to represent Germany in international boxing competitions.
