Lily Abramova: From Model to Media Sensation
Early Life and CareerLily Abramova, also known as Tatarka FM, was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1969. Her father, a Crimean Tatar exiled from his homeland, worked as a manager in the transportation industry. Her mother, of Russian descent, served as a deputy minister of education in Uzbekistan. Abramova spent her childhood in a strict household, with limited freedom and no extracurricular activities.
After graduating high school, Abramova studied at the Mannon Uighur Institute of Arts. She briefly tried her hand at acting but quickly realized it was not her passion. She then joined the Model Theatre, where she worked as both a model and director.
Modelling and Business
Following the closure of the Model Theatre, Abramova established her own modelling agency, which became one of the leading agencies in Uzbekistan. She organized international fashion festivals that received critical acclaim. However, the political instability in Uzbekistan prompted her to relocate to Moscow in search of a better life.
Blogging Breakthrough
Abramova's entry into blogging was a result of a bet she made with her son, Alan. After losing, she agreed to create videos for six months as he directed. The resulting videos, featuring Abramova's unique personality and charisma, quickly gained popularity on YouTube and social media.
Despite initial struggles with fake accounts, Abramova persisted with her blogging. She gradually took over management of her own accounts and connected with her followers. Her down-to-earth and relatable content resonated with audiences.
To enhance her videos, Abramova created a series of memorable characters inspired by real-life encounters. Her popularity led to collaborations with celebrities, including Andrei Borisov, who played her son in a series of viral videos.
Television and Music
Abramova's growing fame resulted in numerous television appearances. She guest-starred in "Good Night, Little Ones!" and "Vadim Galygin's Anecdote Show." She also served as an expert on various talk shows.
Although not a musician herself, Abramova has made cameos in music videos for artists such as Natan and Dima Bilan.
Personal Life
Abramova married for the first time at age 19, but the marriage was short-lived. She met her second husband, Dmitry Abramov, in the mid-1990s. They had two sons, Alan and Nathan.
After two decades of marriage, Abramova and Dmitry divorced in 2019. She then entered a brief relationship with Dmitry Shumilov, a former special forces operative, but they eventually parted ways.
Current Endeavors
In 2023, Abramova shifted her content focus from entertainment to social issues. She launched a new interview series, "Frankly with Tatarka," featuring discussions with individuals who shared her views.
She also appeared as a guest expert on Andrey Malakhov's talk show, discussing controversial topics such as health and spirituality.
