Biography of Tatiana Boeva

Tatiana Boeva was a jazz singer and the soloist of Oleg Lundstrom's orchestra in the early 1970s. Despite never receiving formal training in singing or knowing how to read music, Tatiana developed her natural talent by listening to and imitating American jazz legends. Throughout her life, Tatiana Boeva nurtured several generations of jazz vocalists as well as performers in popular music.

From 1968 to 1970, Tatiana performed with restaurant ensembles and orchestras. In 1970-1971, she was the soloist of Oleg Lundstrom's orchestra. In 1972, Tatiana became a soloist at the Moscow Music Hall. In 1978, she participated in the Donetsk Jazz Festival. In 1981, Tatiana Boeva became a laureate of the song competition of the Soviet Union countries as part of the group "Scythians" in Yalta.

In 1992, Tatiana appeared in the art-documentary film "Summertime" directed by S. Stasenko at the Odessa Film Studio. In 1996, she participated in the international jazz festival "Jazz-voice" in Moscow. In 1997, she performed at the "Jazz over the Yenisei" festival in Krasnoyarsk. Later that year, Tatiana took part in the recording of the anniversary album of the group "Kvartal" in Moscow, performing Arthur Pilyavin's song "Only to leave you." She also performed at the "New Music" jazz festival in Arkhangelsk.

In 1998, Tatiana participated in the international "Festival of One Song" in Parnu, Estonia, with the song "Summertime." In the same year, she performed at the "Duke Cameron-98" jazz festival in Odessa. In 1999, the singer took part in the "Days of Ukrainian Culture in France" and performed concerts at the X International Festival "Jazz - Kaar" in Tallinn. At the International "Festival of One Song" in Parnu, Estonia, Tatiana Boeva was awarded the personal prize of Paul McCartney for the best performance of the song "Yesterday."

In 2001, she performed at the I International Jazz Carnival in Odessa. In the same year, Tatiana Ivanovna won the "Singer of the Year" nomination in a survey of readers of "Arguments and Facts," "Komsomolskaya Pravda," and "Teleweek" newspapers. She also performed at the II International Jazz Carnival in Odessa in 2002 and appeared on the stages of the III International Jazz Carnival in Odessa and the I International Jazz Festival in Koktebel in 2003. In 2004, Tatiana performed at the IV International Jazz Carnival in Odessa, and she had a concert with Anatoly Kroll and Yuri Kuznetsov at the Odessa Regional Philharmonic in the same year.

Tatiana Boeva served as a jury member of the international "Faces of Friends" song festival in Cahul, Moldova, in 2005. In 2008, she recorded the song "I Want to Be with You" for the soundtrack of Zaza Buadze's film "Money for a Daughter." On June 9, 2011, a jubilee concert dedicated to Tatiana Boeva's 60th birthday took place at the Odessa Philharmonic. On May 7, 2012, at the age of 60, Tatiana Boeva passed away from pancreatic cancer. Just a few days before her death, documents were sent to the Ministry of Culture to award her the title of "Honored Artist of Ukraine." She was buried at the Tair Cemetery in Odessa.
