Keidy Kaasiku - Estonian Cross-Country Skier
Olympic JourneyKeidy Kaasiku, an Estonian cross-country skier, has represented her country in two Olympic Games. In Turin in 2006, she competed in four races: sprint (41st), 10 km classical (51st), relay (17th), and mass start 30 km freestyle (41st). At the 2010 Vancouver Games, she placed 57th in the 10 km freestyle, 43rd in the 7.5+7.5 km duathlon, and 41st in the 30 km classical mass start.
World Championship Participation
Kaasiku has also participated in two World Championships. Her best result was a 14th place finish in the relay at the 2009 Championships. Individually, her best performance was a 34th place in the 30 km freestyle mass start at the same event.
World Cup Career
Kaasiku made her World Cup debut in January 2006. Her first top-30 finish in an individual race came in March 2007. To date, she has eight top-30 finishes in the World Cup, six in team events and two in individual races. Her highest overall World Cup ranking is 95th, achieved in the 2006-07 season.
Education and Equipment
Kaasiku graduated from Kiviõli 2nd Secondary School in 1997. She earned a degree in Physical Culture from the K.D. Ushinsky Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University in 2004. She uses Fischer skis, Salomon boots, and Salomon bindings.
