Early Life and Education

Telman Aliyev was born on May 2, 1935, in the Geranboy region of Azerbaijan, into a family of a civil servant. In 1953, he enrolled in the M. Azizbekov Azerbaijan Industrial Institute, graduating in 1958.

Academic Journey

Following his graduation, Aliyev joined the Computing Center (now the Institute of Cybernetics) as a technician. After working in various engineering roles, he pursued a postgraduate degree in 1962 under the guidance of Prof. Vladimir Solodovnikov from Moscow State Technical University (MGTU). He defended his candidate's dissertation in 1966 and his doctoral dissertation in 1977.

Career Advancements

In 1983, Aliyev became a Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and a Full Member in 2001. In 1985, he earned the title of Professor at the Department of Information Technologies and Systems at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.

Leadership Roles

In 1982, Aliyev was appointed Deputy Director for Scientific Research at the Institute of Cybernetics. From 1984 to 1988, he served as Head of the Department at the Azerbaijan Civil Engineering Institute. Since 1988, he has been the Director of the Institute of System Management.

Personal Life

Telman Aliyev is married and has two children.
