Biography of Thierry Breton

Thierry Breton, the current Minister of Economy and Finance in France, has had a remarkable career trajectory. Born into a family of the head of the Commissariat for Atomic Energy, Breton's future success was not always evident. However, he showed early promise by obtaining an engineering diploma from the Paris Electrotechnical Institute.

Teaching and Writing

From 1976 to 1981, Breton taught mathematics and computer science at the French Lycée in New York. During this time, he also pursued his passion for writing, particularly in the genre of science fiction. His literary pursuits would later prove instrumental in his rise to prominence.

A Patron and Mentor

It was through his literary endeavors that Breton gained a significant patron in the form of prominent right-wing politician René Monory. Monory recognized Breton's talent and did everything in his power to cultivate his business acumen. Under Monory's guidance, Breton quickly established himself as an international businessman and earned a reputation as a "savior of troubled corporations."

Saving Troubled Corporations

One notable example of Breton's success was his ability to rescue the well-known company "Thomson" from financial collapse. When the company was on the verge of being sold to South Korean company "Daewoo" for a symbolic franc, Breton leveraged his connections and secured billion-dollar subsidies to revive the company's fortunes. He achieved similar results with "France Telecom."

Ambition and Determination

Despite his affable demeanor, Breton's actions in the business world have shown that he can be a tough and determined individual. This attribute is likely to serve him well in his current role as a Minister. Additionally, Breton is a married man and a proud father to a daughter.
