Biography of Thomas Kraft
Thomas Kraft is a German football player, currently serving as the goalkeeper for the club "Hertha" in Berlin. He began his football career at the youth club "Sportfond Daaden" before moving to "VfB Wissen" two years later. In 2002, Kraft joined "SG 06 Betzdorf" and remained there for two years.
In 2004, Kraft received a lucrative offer from the youth team of "Bayern Munich". That same year, he made his debut in the German U17 national team, playing his first match against Belgium, which resulted in a victory for Kraft's team (2:0). In 2006, Kraft made his debut in professional football, playing for the club's reserve team, "Bayern II".
On July 17, 2008, Kraft was invited to play as a goalkeeper for the first team of "Bayern Munich", becoming the third choice goalkeeper after Hans-Jorg Butt and Michael Rensing. Following Rensing's departure, Kraft was promoted to the position of the first backup goalkeeper, with Ruvan Sattelmaier becoming the third choice.
In 2010, Kraft and the club won their first award together, the Bundesliga title. Later that year, on November 23, he made his debut in the Champions League, playing against "Roma" and conceding three goals. This was the only defeat suffered by the club in the 2010/11 qualification round (2:3). In the Bundesliga, Kraft played 12 games, conceding 14 goals.
Before the transfer window opened, Thomas Kraft joined "Hertha" as a free agent due to the club's acquisition of Manuel Neuer.
