Early Life and Major Works
Wilbrandt rose to prominence with his album "The Electric V" (1984), which reinterpreted Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" for a blend of acoustic and electric instruments. He also gained acclaim for "Exhibitionistic Echoes" (1992), his adaptation of Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition." Wilbrandt's arrangements of Erik Satie's "Gymnopédies" further showcased his mastery of musical adaptation.
Vivaldi's Legacy
Wilbrandt's arrangement of Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" proved particularly popular. In 1996, the Washington Ballet premiered "Interlaced," a ballet choreographed to Wilbrandt's adaptation. The music gained widespread recognition and continues to be used in artistic productions.
Other Collaborations
