Early Life and Vocal TrainingTimo Kotipelto honed his vocal skills at the Pop/Jazz Conservatory in Helsinki. Before joining Stratovarius, he showcased his talent in the amateur cover band Filthy Asses.
Joining Stratovarius: A Meteoric Rise
In 1994, Kotipelto auditioned for Stratovarius, who were in search of a lead vocalist. His captivating voice instantly won over the band, marking the beginning of the Finnish band's journey to international prominence.
Departure and Reunion
In 2003, Kotipelto left Stratovarius due to creative differences, primarily with guitarist Timo Tolkki. After a period of uncertainty in 2004, he reunited with the band in 2005.
The Kotipelto Project
In 2002, Kotipelto embarked on a solo venture, forming the band Kotipelto. The project has released three studio albums to date.
Cain's Offering
In 2009, Kotipelto joined forces with Jani Liimatainen, former guitarist of Sonata Arctica, to form Cain's Offering. The band has released one album under this moniker.
