Biography of Timofey Spivak

Timofey Spivak, an actor, was born on November 13, 1947, in Kherson, Ukraine. He completed his education at a music school, specializing in violin. In 1976, he graduated from GITIS (now known as RATI), under the guidance of Master V.A. Andreev. During his time as a student, he began his acting career in films.

Acting Career

Timofey Spivak made his cinematic debut in the leading role of the film "The Secret of the Partisan Hut." His breakthrough came in 1981 when he won the prize for Best Male Role at the All-Union Film Festival in Vilnius for his performance in the film "Serving the Fatherland."

In addition to his film work, Spivak joined the Moscow Dramatic Theater named after K.S. Stanislavsky in 1976. He played notable roles in various productions, including "The Threshold" based on the play by A. Dudarev, "Cyrano de Bergerac" by E. Rostand, "Farewell in June" by A. Vampilov, "Two Gentlemen of Verona" by W. Shakespeare, and "Intrigue and Love" by F. Schiller, among others.

Teaching and Artistic Leadership

Since 1992, Timofey Spivak has been a professor at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ISI). He also holds the position of Artistic Director at the theater studio "Actors of Cinema and Theater" (AKT).

In 2001, he collaborated with Mexican director Sergio Olhovich to establish the Russian-Mexican Institute of Art, Cinema, and Theater in Mexico City, Mexico.
