Timur Parcvinia: Ukrainian Footballer and Defender

Timur Parcvinia is a Ukrainian footballer who currently plays as a defender for the club "Istiklol." Born on July 6, 1991, in Tbilisi, he moved to Ukraine at the beginning of 2008 and soon acquired Ukrainian citizenship. Parcvinia began his football career in the youth league in Ukraine, playing for "Otradny" and "Dynamo" (Kyiv). He made his debut for "Dynamo-2" on February 29, 2008, in a match against Kyiv's CSKA (3:2). In the summer of 2008, he joined the first team of "Dynamo" for training camp in Austria.

Club Career


In February 2010, Parcvinia was invited for a trial at Kyiv's "Arsenal." In 2011, there were reports of interest in the player from the American club "Los Angeles Galaxy." In July 2012, he went on a trial at the French club "Evian." For the 2012/13 season, he played on loan for Zaporizhia's "Metalurh." He then transferred to "Volyn," making his debut on July 27, 2013, in an away match against Zaporizhia's "Metalurh." In the summer of 2015, he became a player for Donetsk's "Olimpik." Parcvinia debuted for the team in the Ukrainian Championship on August 29, 2015, in an away match against Lutsk's "Volyn" (0:1). In the 2016/17 season, his team finished in 4th place in the Ukrainian Championship, earning the right to compete in the Europa League. In April 2017, he suffered an injury that caused him to miss the end of the season. On June 30, 2017, his contract with "Olimpik" expired, and Parcvinia chose not to renew it. After recovering from his injury in August, he resumed training with the reserve team of "Dynamo." In September 2017, he became a player for Chernihiv's "Desna."

International Career


Parcvinia represented the youth national teams of Ukraine, playing for the under-17 and under-19 squads. He played 5 matches for the Ukrainian under-17 team. With the Ukrainian under-19 team, he won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2009, defeating England in the final with a score of 2-0.

In the winter of 2018, Parcvinia signed a two-year contract with Donetsk's "Olimpik." However, after a loss to Odessa's "Chornomorets" (1:3) in a league game, the president of "Olimpik," Vladyslav Helzin, suspected several players of involvement in match-fixing and proposed a polygraph test for them. In late April 2018, Parcvinia left the club by mutual agreement. In the summer of 2021, he joined the Kazakhstani club "FC Zhetysu."
