Biography of Vadim Demidov

Vadim Demidov is a Norwegian footballer of Russian descent, who plays as a defender and midfielder. He is the son of Sergey Demidov, a renowned handball player for the USSR national team and the MAI club. Vadim's father moved to Norway when he was three years old. His older brother, Dmitry, also started playing football but had to end his brief career due to a serious illness.

Until the age of 16, Demidov played both football and handball, but eventually chose to focus on football. He represented various national teams at different age levels, even captaining some games. On April 28, 2008, he made his debut for the senior national team in a match against Uruguay. In May 2009, Demidov expressed his desire to play for the Russian national team. However, on September 7, 2010, he played for the Norwegian national team in a Euro 2012 qualifying match against Portugal (1-0), thereby becoming ineligible to play for Russia.

Demidov has played for several clubs throughout his career, including Hønefoss, Manglerud Star, Sandefjord, Runar, Fram, Larvik, and Rosenborg. From 2008 to 2010, he played for Rosenborg, where he spent the most time on the field among all players and played all six matches of the club in the "main draw" of the UEFA Cup. He won the Norwegian championship in 2009 with Rosenborg.

On September 20, 2010, Demidov signed a contract with the Spanish club Real Sociedad, which took effect on January 1, 2011, after his contract with Rosenborg expired. The agreement was set to last until June 30, 2013.
