Biography of Valery Nazarov
Valery Nazarov was born on September 11, 1955, in the city of Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast. He graduated from Tallinn Maritime School in 1975, Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute of Communications named after Bonch-Bruevich in 1985, and the Institute of State Service under the Government of the Russian Federation with a specialization in "Public Municipal Management" in 1993. In 1998, he completed his studies at the Russian Academy of Civil Service under the President of the Russian Federation with a specialization in "Jurisprudence".
During the years 1994-1995, Nazarov held the position of Deputy General Director of the Saint Petersburg City Housing Agency. From 1995 to 1999, he served as the Director of the City Bureau of Real Estate Rights Registration. In 1999, he was appointed the Chairman of the Committee for Urban Property Management of Saint Petersburg, holding the rank of Vice-Governor.
In January 2004, Nazarov was appointed Deputy Head of the Administration and Chief of the Main Control Department of the President of the Russian Federation. He succeeded Evgeny Lisov in this position. In March 2004, he became the head of the Federal Agency for Managing Federal Property.
Valery Nazarov holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is a Master of Sports in Volleyball. He is married and has two children.
