Biography of Valery Velichko
Valery Velichko is a Russian actor known for his extensive work in both theater and film. Born in 1961, he graduated from Technical School No. 5 before working as a fitter-assembler at the Uralmash plant. However, Velichko's true passion lied in the performing arts.

In 1961, he enrolled at the Sverdlovsk Theater School, where he studied until 1965. Following his graduation, Velichko joined the Sverdlovsk Academic Drama Theater as an actor. Throughout his career, he has played over seventy roles, ranging from comedic characters to more significant and substantial parts.
While Velichko has been recognized for his talent in larger roles, he has also gained a reputation as the "king of episodes." He approaches these smaller roles with equal enthusiasm and believes that every character, no matter how minor, deserves a meticulous portrayal. This dedication to his craft has earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues.
Some of Velichko's notable theater roles include Ernardo in "Lady of Hearts First and Foremost" by P. Calderon, Kudimov in A. Vampilov's "Elder Son," Golutvin in A. Ostrovsky's "Enough Stupidity in Every Wise Man," Pablo in T. Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire," and the Priest in W. Shakespeare's "Hamlet."
Velichko's stage presence and unique charm have often been compared to that of Fernandel, a famous French actor. His ability to captivate audiences with his comedic talent and genuine charisma has caught the attention of filmmakers as well. He made his film debut while still in his second year of theater school, playing the role of Cadet Davydichev in "Footprint in the Ocean."
Since then, Velichko has appeared in several films, although he acknowledges that his theater career remains his true calling. He typically portrays supporting characters in movies, with his most recent role being that of mechanic Fyodor in the melodrama "Two Drivers." While he appreciates the occasional opportunity to work with renowned directors like Herman, Velichko believes that theater offers a more enduring and fulfilling artistic experience.
Throughout his career, Valery Velichko has proven himself as a versatile and dedicated actor. Whether on stage or in front of the camera, he continues to bring his unique charm and talent to every role he undertakes.
