Vasyl Gabor is a renowned Ukrainian prose writer and literary scholar who has made significant contributions to his country's literary scene.

Early Life and Military Service

Vasyl Gabor was born in Zakarpattia and served in the Soviet Army during his early years. Upon moving to Lviv, he initially struggled with the Ukrainian language. However, his determination led him to overcome this challenge.

Education and Career

In 1986, Gabor graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Ivan Franko Lviv State University. From 1987 to 1990, he worked for several Lviv newspapers. Subsequently, from 1991 to 1992, he contributed to the historical and regional magazine "Chronicle of Red Viburnum."

Since 1993, Gabor has been a research fellow at the Lviv V. Stefanik Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Literary Works and Contributions

Vasyl Gabor has authored the collection of novellas "Book of Exotic Dreams and Real Events." He has also written several regional essays and compiled various anthologies. Additionally, he has been a prominent figure in the promotion of contemporary Ukrainian literature through his regular column in the magazine "Kur'ier Kryvbasu."

Gabor is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers, and his works have been translated into German and Croatian.

Current Status

Today, Vasyl Gabor resides in Lviv, continuing to contribute to Ukrainian literature as a respected and influential writer and scholar.
