Ricardo Acevedo: A Chilean Chess Master
Ricardo Acevedo, a Chilean chess player, achieved the title of International Master in 1982 and later pursued a career as a coach.
National Accomplishments
Acevedo participated in numerous national championships, earning notable results: second place in 1977, and third place in 1975 and 1976. His skill was recognized by the Chilean national team, which selected him to represent the country at four Olympiads: 1976, 1978, 1982, and 1984. During these events, he played on various boards, including the first board in 1984.
International Coaching
After his playing career, Acevedo transitioned to coaching. He guided the Mexican national team and the United States junior team, where he played a significant role in shaping the careers of American grandmasters Prichard Wolff and Igor Gurevich.
