Victor Dmytrovych Hladush: Industrialist and Ukrainian Politician
Education and Early CareerVictor Dmytrovych Hladush was born in 1937. In 1959, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute as a mechanical engineer.
Industrial Leadership
From 1981 to 1986, Hladush served as the director of the Kryvorizhstal Plant, one of Ukraine's largest steel plants. He subsequently held the position of Deputy Minister of Ferrous Metallurgy of Ukraine from 1986 to 1987.
Government Service
From 1987 to 1992, Hladush served as Deputy Head of the Government of Ukraine for Heavy Industries. In 1992, he was appointed as Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia, also representing Ukraine in Estonia and Lithuania.
Parliamentary Representation
Hladush was elected as a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR (11th convocation) and as a people's deputy to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2nd convocation).
Accomplishments and Recognition
Hladush was awarded numerous honors, including the title of Honored Metallurgist of Ukraine, Honored Metallurgist of the USSR, and the Order "For Merit" (3rd degree).
Legacy and Death
Victor Hladush passed away on November 8, 2010, in Kyiv. He was buried in the Baikove Cemetery in Kyiv. Hladush's contributions to the Ukrainian steel industry and his government service left a lasting impact on the nation's development.
