Early Life and Education
Born in Miami, Florida in 1959, Victoria Jackson was raised in a strict Christian household. Her father, James, was a gymnastics coach, and her mother, Marlene, instilled in her daughter a deep religious upbringing. Victoria excelled in gymnastics from a young age, eventually attending Furman University on a gymnastics scholarship.
After graduating from Furman, she continued her education at Auburn University and Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she earned a degree in theatre arts.
The Road to Hollywood
Victoria's entertainment career began in Alabama, where she met Johnny Crawford, a former child star. Crawford recognized her talent and invited her to perform at his nightclub in Los Angeles. She moved to the City of Angels in the early 1980s, where she initially struggled, working as a cigarette vendor and a waitress.
