Biography of Victor Kolotov

Victor Mikhailovich Kolotov (1949-2000), a football player, was born in the village of Yudino in the Tatar ASSR. He was a midfielder and achieved the titles of Honored Master of Sports (1975) and Honored Coach of Ukraine (1986). Kolotov played for teams such as "Trudovye Rezervy", "Rubin" (both in Kazan), and "Dynamo" Kyiv (1971-1981). He played 218 matches in the USSR championships and scored 62 goals. He was a champion of the USSR in 1971, 1974, 1975, and 1977, and he won the USSR Cup in 1974 and 1978. Kolotov was the captain of Dynamo from 1972 to 1976 and 1978 to 1979. He played 37 matches in European cup tournaments and scored 8 goals. He won the Cup Winners' Cup and the Super Cup in 1975. Kolotov played 55 matches for the USSR national team and scored 22 goals. He won a silver medal in the 1972 European Championship and a bronze medal in the 1972 and 1976 Olympics. Kolotov captained the USSR national team from 1975 to 1976. He was a prominent football player of the 1970s, known for his skill and leadership on the field. Unfortunately, Kolotov passed away in 2000, leaving his mark on the history of Soviet football.
