Biography of Viktor Yanukovych
Viktor Yanukovych, born in 1950, is the 4th President of Ukraine. On February 25, 2010, the Members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received a draft resolution of the Supreme Council of Ukraine "On granting consent to the appointment of Viktor Yanukovych as Prime Minister of Ukraine", accompanied by biographical data, educational information, and income declarations for the candidate.

Background
Viktor Yanukovych was born in 1950 in Ukraine. He comes from a working-class background. He attended school from 1957 to 1965 and then enrolled in the Enakievo Mining Technical College to study Mining Electromechanics. In 1968, he was sentenced as a minor and sent to a juvenile colony. In 1969, he began working at the gas plant of the Enakievo Metallurgical Plant. In 1970, he was convicted of causing moderate bodily harm, although his convictions were later expunged.

In August 1972, Yanukovych started working as an electrician at Enakievo ATP-04113. In April 1973, he was transferred to the position of mechanic at ATP-04113. In 1973, he graduated from Enakievo Mining Technical College. In 1974, he was admitted to Donetsk Polytechnic Institute, where he successfully completed his studies in 1980.

In 1976, Yanukovych was appointed the director of the motor depot of PO "Ordzhonikidzeugol". In 1982, he was elected as a deputy of the Carlo-Markov Village Council in Enakievo. In February 1984, he became the director of the motor depot of PO "Ordzhonikidzeugol". In September 1987, he was appointed as the deputy director for material and technical support and transportation of the Donetsk State Production Association of the Coal Industry. In May 1989, he became the acting director of PO "Donbasstranrepair", and in July 1989, he was elected as the director. In 1991, he was elected as the general director of the enterprise association "Donbasstranrepair".

Career and Family
From January 1994 to September 1994, Yanukovych served as the general director of the Ukrainian Production Association of Industrial Transportation of the Coal Industry "Ukruglepromtrans". In September 1994, he was appointed as the general director of the Donetsk Territorial Production Association of Automobile Transport.

In August 1996, Yanukovych became the deputy chairman of the regional state administration in Donetsk, and from September 1996 to May 1997, he served as the first deputy chairman of the regional state administration in Donetsk. In May 1997, he was appointed as the chairman of the regional state administration in Donetsk. He also served as a deputy of the regional council in Donetsk.
From May 1999 to May 2001, he concurrently held the position of the chairman of the Donetsk Regional Council.
Viktor Yanukovych is married to Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Yanukovych, born in 1949, who is a homemaker and a graduate of the Makeevka Engineering and Construction Institute. They have two sons: Alexander Viktorovich Yanukovych, born in 1973, who is a dentist, and Viktor Viktorovich Yanukovych, born in 1981, who is a student at Donetsk National University.
Yanukovych's father, Fyodor Vladimirovich Yanukovych, was born in 1923 and passed away in 1991. His mother, Olga Semenovna Yanukovych, was born in 1925 and died in 1952. Both of his parents are buried in Enakievo.
