Architect Victorija Poplavskaya
Victorija Poplavskaya was born on December 22, 1929, in Batumi, Georgia. She graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture (LISI) in 1955, majoring in architecture.
Career
After completing her studies, Victorija Poplavskaya started her career at the "Obldrojekt" institute in Arzamas from 1955 to 1957. She then moved to the Batumi branch of the "Gruzhgiprogorgproekt" institute, where she worked from 1957 to 1960. In 1961, she joined the Batumi Scientific Research Institute of the Georgian SSR Academy of Sciences and worked there until 1962. From 1963 to 1965, she returned to the Batumi branch of the "Gruzhgiprogorgproekt" institute.
Victorija Poplavskaya's career also took her to Kuybyshev, where she worked at the "Grazhdanproekt" institute from 1965 to 1972. She then joined the Volga Railway company, "Zheldor Povolzhya," where she worked from 1972 to 1975. In 1975, she returned to the "Grazhdanproekt" institute in Kuybyshev for a year before joining the Bashkir branch of the "Rosproekt" institute in 1977.
Projects and Achievements
Throughout her career, Victorija Poplavskaya contributed to various architectural projects and constructions. Some notable examples include her work as a co-author in the design of the "Mziuri" holiday house in Batumi. She was also involved in the reconstruction project for Lenin Street in Kobuleti and the renovation of the Port Administration building in Poti. Victorija Poplavskaya played a significant role in the development of the "Adzharsnaba" base in Batumi and the interior reconstruction of the drama theater's foyer. Her work also extended to the design and construction of the "Uchebno-proizvodstvenny kombinat" accounting and credit college, the nine-story building on Molodogvardeiskaya Street, and the pharmacy warehouses. Additionally, she was involved in the establishment of the computing center for the Kuybyshev Railway.
