Vincent Lindon was born on July 15, 1959, in Boulogne-Billancourt, a suburb of Paris, France. Hailing from a prominent non-cinematic family, he possesses an illustrious lineage. Lindon's acting debut came in 1983. He gained wider recognition in the 1988 romantic comedy "L'Étudiante" alongside Sophie Marceau. His critical acclaim soared with the 1995 drama "La Haine," which earned the Prix de la mise en scène at the Cannes Film Festival and three César Awards. Lindon himself received five César nominations for Best Actor before finally winning the award in 2016 for his portrayal in "The Measure of a Man." Lindon also has a son, Marcel, born in 1996. He subsequently had a relationship with French-Italian actress Chiara Mastroianni, daughter of Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni. In 2022, he announced his relationship with patron of the arts Cécile Duffaut.

Lindon's recent credits include the 2022 erotic thriller "With Love and Fury," in which he plays a character entangled in a love triangle. The film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and received the Silver Bear for Best Director.
