Vladimir V. Gorbunov

Early Life and Education

Vladimir V. Gorbunov was born in Potsdam, Germany in 1948. His family later moved to Kiev, Ukraine, where he completed his secondary education. In 1966, he enrolled in the Biological Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, graduating in 1971 with a degree in Animal and Human Physiology.

Career

Scientific Research

Gorbunov's research primarily focuses on developing psychophysiological criteria for assessing the ergonomic effectiveness of flight crew performance, including safety, quality, and reliability. He completed his candidate of biological sciences dissertation in 1981 and his doctoral dissertation in 1995, both in the field of psychophysiology.

Aviation Ergonomics

Gorbunov's work at the Antonov Scientific and Technical Aviation Complex (ANATC) from 1977 to 2008 involved ergonomic analysis and design of aircraft workplaces and flight crew performance. He conducted ground and flight tests, as well as ergonomic certification for various Antonov aircraft models.

Academia

From 2008 to 2015, Gorbunov served as a professor at the Department of Aviation Psychology at the Kyiv National Aviation University (NAU), teaching courses in aviation ergonomics, engineering psychology, and human psychophysiology.
