Early Life and Military Service

Vladimir Adolfovich Shneiderovwas born on July 15 (28), 1900, in Moscow, Russia. After graduating from a real school in 1917, he volunteered for the Red Army.

Exploration and Filmmaking

Following the Russian Revolution and the establishment of the Soviet Union, Shneiderov embarked on his travels across the country. In 1924, he produced educational short films, "In Samarkand" and "In Uzbekistan." In 1925, he participated in a Soviet aviation expedition to Mongolia and China, which inspired the film "The Great Flight."

Shneiderov continued his travels, exploring the Pamir Mountains in 1928 and filming "The Foot of Death." In 1929, he visited the southern Arabian Peninsula, meeting with locals and the prince, and gathering information for the film "Al-Yemen," released in 1930.

Artistic Films and the "Travel Club"

In the mid-1930s, Shneiderov directed feature films, including the popular "Dzhulbars" (1936) and "The Gorge of the Alamasovs" (1937).

After World War II, Shneiderov created the documentary series "Travels in the USSR," showcasing the landscapes and lives of people throughout the Soviet Union. In 1960, he became the host of the legendary "Travel Club," where he remained until his death.

International Recognition and Guinness Record

The "Travel Club" became immensely popular in the USSR, where foreign travel was restricted. In 1963, Shneiderov was appointed head of the creative association of geographical films at the "Tsentrnauchfilm" studio. The show earned international and national awards, including the French, Swiss, German, and Italian prizes, as well as Russia's "TEFI" and "Crystal Globe."

The "Travel Club" achieved a Guinness World Record with over two thousand episodes.
