Vladimir Vinek: Yugoslav Football Legend

Vladimir Vinek was a prominent Yugoslav Croatian football player who played as a forward throughout his career.

Club Career

Vinek spent his entire club career with either HAŠK Zagreb or Concordia Zagreb, depending on different sources. He played for HAŠK from 1919 to 1926.

International Career

On June 8, 1922, Vinek made his debut for the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes national team in a friendly match against Romania. He played in the team's only match at the 1924 Olympics, where they were defeated 7-0 by eventual gold medalists Uruguay.

Goalscoring Record

Vinek scored his first international goal on October 1, 1922, in a friendly against Poland. He scored a brace on June 10, 1923, in a friendly against Romania, helping his team secure a 2-1 victory. In total, he scored 3 goals in 6 appearances for the national team.

Later Life and Legacy

Vladimir Vinek passed away in 1945 in Lepoglava. He is remembered as one of the most talented Yugoslav footballers of his era.
