Biography of Wojciech Kowalewski

Early Career

Wojciech Kowalewski is a Polish football player who began his career as a goalkeeper. He played for various clubs including Legia Warsaw, Dyskobolia, and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Success with Spartak Moscow

In 2004, Kowalewski joined Spartak Moscow and made a name for himself in the Russian Premier League. He also had the opportunity to represent the league's foreign players' national team in a match on June 2, 2004. Kowalewski's impressive performances led him to be named the best player of Spartak Moscow by the fans in 2004 and 2005.

Move to Greece and Return to Russia

After leaving Spartak Moscow, Kowalewski signed with Greek club Iraklis in January 2010. However, his contract was terminated by the club just a few months later in January 2010. In February of the same year, he joined Siberia. However, he was put up for transfer by the club at the end of 2010.

Later Career and Retirement

On January 15, 2011, Kowalewski signed a contract with Cypriot club Anorthosis. After a year with Anorthosis, he announced his retirement from professional football on February 29, 2012.

Accolades

Throughout his career, Kowalewski achieved several notable accomplishments. He was a champion of Ukraine in 2002 and Poland in 2002. He also won the Ukrainian Cup in the 2001/2002 season. In addition, Kowalewski was a silver medalist in the Russian Premier League in 2005 and 2006. He was recognized as one of the top 33 players in the league in 2005 and was voted the best player of Spartak Moscow by the fans in 2004 and 2005.
