Early Life and Education

Vugar Novruzov was born on April 7, 1962, in Lachin, Azerbaijan SSR. After completing high school in 1979, he served in the Soviet army in the Moldavian SSR. Upon completing his military service, he enrolled at the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova.

Career in Business

In 1992, Novruzov established his own business in Chisinau, Moldova. Subsequently, he founded "Azmol Company," a leading domestic economic agent. The company specializes in the import, supply, and wholesale and retail trade of household chemicals, cosmetics, and electrical goods.

Azmol Company owns a network of specialized stores, "Casa Curata," which sell these products in the retail market.

Public Service

From 2004 to 2019, Novruzov chaired the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Moldova (CAM). During his tenure, monuments were erected in Chisinau to Nizami Ganjavi, Heydar Aliyev, and Mihai Eminescu. CAM also opened the "Shusha" alley at the "Eternitate Memorial" in honor of those who died for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

In 2016, CAM sponsored the construction of the "Arch of Friendship" at the entrance to the city of Sângerei.

With the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy, CAM funded the music album "Anthology of Azerbaijani Folk Music" performed by Konstantin Moscovici, a Moldovan folk artist. The album featured 14 compositions.

Philanthropy

Novruzov has generously contributed to numerous charitable initiatives. He has funded the publication of over 15 books, including "Anthology of Azerbaijani Literature" and "Anthology of Moldovan Literature." He also sponsored the issuance of a disk and concert featuring works by Dmitry Kantemir performed by the Symphony Orchestra.

Awards and Recognitions

In 2010, Novruzov was awarded the Gloria Muncii Order and Diploma of the Second Degree from the Republic of Moldova. In 2016, he was bestowed the Order of the Republic, Moldova's highest honor. The same year, he received the "Vətən övladı" ("Son of the Fatherland") award from the Dede Qorqud Foundation and the international magazine "Azerbaijan Dünyası."
