Early Life and Career

Vernon Anita was born on April 4, 1989 in Willemstad, Curaçao. At the age of six, he moved with his parents back to Willemstad, where he played for a local team. A year later, in 1997, his family decided to move back to the Netherlands so that he could continue his footballing education at "Marsene".

Ajax Academy

During a training match, Anita caught the attention of scouts from Amsterdam's "Ajax", leading to his move to their football academy. At "Ajax", Anita played for all their youth teams. On April 4, 2005, his sixteenth birthday, he signed a three-year contract with "Ajax".

Ajax Debut

Anita made his debut for the "Ajax" first team in their match against "Groningen" on March 19, 2006. Unfortunately for Anita, the match ended in a 3-2 defeat for "Ajax".

International Career

Anita represented the Netherlands at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Peru, where the Dutch team won the silver medal, after defeating Turkey 2-1 in the third-place match.

Senior International Debut

In 2010, Anita was called up to the senior Netherlands national team for the first time. He made his international debut on May 26, 2010, in a friendly match against Mexico that the Netherlands won 2-1.
