Early Life and Education
Vasyliev Vasylievich Kremen was born on July 14, 1947, in Ordzhonikidze, North Ossetian ASSR. He completed his secondary education at the Smolyan Technical College of Food Industry in 1966. In 1974, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where he studied journalism. He continued his education at the Kyiv Institute of Culture, earning a Kandidat of Pedagogical Sciences degree in 1980 and a Doctor of Philological Sciences degree in 1986.
Political and Academic Career
Kremen joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) in 1968 and remained a member until 1990. He served as a lecturer in universities in the United States and Canada from 1989 to 1990. In 1982, he became a member of the Writers' Union of Ukraine.
Leadership Roles
Kremen has held several leadership positions in the Ukrainian education sector. He is the Honorary President of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where he has made significant contributions to its academic development.
Personal Life
Kremen is married to Larisa Ivanovna. His father, Stepan Alekseyevich, lived from 1909 to 1997.
