Early Life and Education

José Antonio Mayobre was born in Venezuela and pursued a doctorate in anthropology. He became a professor at the Central University of Venezuela.

Political Activism

Founder of the Communist Party of Venezuela

Mayobre's political activism began with the founding of the Communist Party of Venezuela in 1931. He played an instrumental role in its establishment and served as an influential member.

Labor Union and Political Leader

Mayobre's involvement extended beyond the Communist Party. He became general secretary of the Progressive Republican Party in 1936 and later joined the leadership of the National Democratic Party.

Establishment of Venezuelan Popular Union

In 1944, Mayobre founded and chaired the Venezuelan Popular Union. He actively participated in establishing the United Communist Party of Venezuela and the Revolutionary Proletarian Party in 1946.
