Vyacheslav Bykov, a prodigious hockey forward, was born on June 24, 1960, in the village of Russkiy Sholner in the Mari ASSR. His journey into hockey began in 1966 when his family relocated to Chelyabinsk, where he would later become a legendary player.
Club Career
Bykov's professional career commenced in 1979 with Traktor Chelyabinsk, where he showcased his exceptional skills. In 1982, he joined the legendary CSKA Moscow, where he reigned supreme as a champion for seven consecutive years (1983-1989). Together with CSKA, he amassed an astonishing 10 USSR Championship gold medals and 7 European Champion Cups.
His stellar performance earned him opportunities abroad. From 1990 to 1998, Bykov played for Fribourg-Gottéron in Switzerland, where he became a fan favorite, scoring 708 points in 365 games.
