Early Life and Acting Debut

Born on November 14, 1948, in Bayonne, New Jersey, Olkewicz's interest in acting was sparked by his uncle, Adrian Drake, a minor actor in the 1980s. He made his big-screen debut in 1979 with a brief role in Steven Spielberg's "1941."

Television Career

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Olkewicz appeared in numerous episodic television roles, including a recurring stint as Lieutenant Provenza in "Grace Under Fire" from 1993 to 1996. In 1990, he landed his breakthrough role as Jacques Renault in "Twin Peaks," which gained him international recognition.

Health Challenges and Disability

In 1999 and 2000, Olkewicz underwent multiple knee surgeries, resulting in disability. His son, Zach, dropped out of high school to become his primary caregiver. His experiences with disability inspired him to become an advocate for the rights of people with disabilities.
