Will Forte: A Multifaceted Star
Early Life and EducationOn June 17, 1970, Orville Willis Forte IV was born in California. Raised in Lafayette, he graduated from Acalanes High School and earned a history degree from the University of California, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha.
Arise of a Comedian
Forte joined "The Groundlings" improv comedy troupe prior to his "Saturday Night Live" debut in 2002. On SNL, he portrayed memorable characters like the annoying phone operator Andy, the dorky politician Tim Calhoun, and Patrick Kelly of "The Kelly Brothers." He also impersonated prominent figures like George Bush, John Edwards, and Benny Hill.
Screenwriting Accomplishments
In addition to his comedic talents, Forte is an accomplished screenwriter. He contributed to the beloved sitcoms "3rd Rock from the Sun," "That '70s Show," "Late Show," and "Action." He penned the screenplay for "The Brothers Solomon," starring himself and Will Arnett, and co-wrote "Parental Guidance Suggested" with fellow SNL cast member Andy Samberg.
Voice Acting and Animation
Forte's voice has brought life to characters in popular animated shows such as "Clone High" and "God, the Devil and Bob." The latter caused controversy due to its perceived blasphemy, leading to its cancellation.
