Biography of Lyubov Polekhina

Lyubov Polekhina is an actress who is currently teaching acting in the United States. She was born in the village of Vasilyevka in the Kursk region. Her grandmother came from a rich Latvian aristocratic family, but their property was confiscated. Lyubov's mother was raised by other people and became a teacher. Her father was a charismatic man who loved to dance, play musical instruments, and sing. It was because of him that Lyubov decided to become an actress.

After finishing school, Lyubov went to study at a technical college in Kharkov to become a fashion designer. However, her mother insisted that she pursue a more reliable profession and convinced her to apply to the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). Unfortunately, she arrived late for the exams and was taken in by an elderly woman who gave her a corner to stay in exchange for cleaning her apartment.

Despite the initial setback, Lyubov Polekhina excelled in her studies and was admitted to the acting department of VGIK, on the course of Sergey Gerasimov. She quickly received her first role in Sergei Gerasimov's film "Daughters-Mothers" along with her classmates Larisa Udovichenko, Svetlana Smekhnova, and Zurab Kipshidze.

Her talent was noticed, and Lyubov Polekhina began to receive many acting opportunities. She played attractive characters, such as Sonia in Igor Shatrov's film "Sons and Daughters" based on the novel by Lipatov, and mischievous Sanka Volkova in Sergei Gerasimov's historical film "Peter the Great" based on the novel by Alexei Tolstoy. She also played seductive Olympiada in Leonid Golovnya's film "Cherry Pool" based on the novel by Alexeev, and gentle Evdokia Demidova in the historical film "The Demidovs" directed by Yaropolk Lapschin.

After marrying her classmate, Colombian director Mario Riviero, Lyubov Polekhina left the Russian film industry and moved to Colombia. However, she found the local film industry to be of low quality and struggled to find satisfaction in her work. Eventually, she learned Spanish and started working in the Colombian film industry.

Despite her success in Colombia, Lyubov Polekhina was often invited to work in Russia. However, due to her children, she had to decline the offers. She eventually moved to the United States, where she currently resides in Miami. She continues to work as an actress and also teaches acting to aspiring actors.

Lyubov Polekhina's children are multilingual and have a deep appreciation for Russian art and culture. Her son is a passionate fan of Russian films and defends Russian directors and actors. Lyubov Polekhina hopes to open her own acting school in the United States and invite her colleagues to teach there. She firmly believes that the Russian acting school is the best in the world.
