Xavier Henry, an American professional basketball player, made a name for himself as a versatile forward and shooting guard.
College Career at Kansas
Henry spent a single season at the University of Kansas. In the 2009/10 season, he played 36 games, averaging 27.5 minutes, 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game.
NBA Draft and Memphis Grizzlies
In the 2010 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies selected Henry with the 12th overall pick. He signed a contract with the team on September 25, 2010.
Three-Team Trade and Move to New Orleans
On January 4, 2012, Henry was involved in a three-team trade that sent him to the New Orleans Hornets.
Brief Stint with the Lakers and Warriors
On December 29th, Henry was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers to make room for Tariq Black of the Houston Rockets. After signing with the Golden State Warriors on October 19, 2015, he was waived four days later. He then joined the Warriors' NBA Development League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, on November 2nd.
Debut with the Santa Cruz Warriors
Henry made his debut for his new team on February 19, 2016, against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He tallied 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks in 16 minutes of play.
