Early Life and Career at Saprissa

Yeltsin Tejeda, named after the first President of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, is a Costa Rican footballer who plays as a midfielder for Swiss club Lausanne and the Costa Rican national team. At the tender age of 15, Tejeda left his family home in Limón and moved to the country's capital, San José, to pursue his football ambitions. He joined Saprissa, where he made his professional debut on August 25, 2011, against Municipal Pérez Zeledón. Tejeda quickly established himself as a key player for Saprissa and was named the tournament's best player during the 2013-2014 season.

Move to Evian

On August 22, 2014, it was announced that Tejeda had joined French club Evian on a four-year contract. He scored his first goal for Evian on September 19, 2014, against Bordeaux.

International Career

Tejeda represented Costa Rica at youth and international levels. He made his senior debut on December 11, 2011, in a friendly against Cuba. In 2013, he participated in the CONCACAF Gold Cup with Costa Rica. At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Tejeda started in the team's opening group match and played in all five games as they reached the quarter-finals.
