Yulia Mostova: A Renowned Ukrainian Journalist
Early Life and EducationYulia Mostova was born into a family of journalists and scientists. Her father, Vladimir Mostovoy, was a prominent journalist, while her mother, Valentina Naumenko, was a biologist. Mostova graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1991.
Journalistic Career
Mostova began her journalistic career in 1991 as the head of the international department at the newspaper "Kyivsky Vestnik." Over the next few years, she worked as a reviewer at Ukraine's AFP agency and an international reviewer at the newspaper "Kyivskie Vedomosti."
In October 1994, Mostova joined "Zerkalo Nedeli" as deputy editor-in-chief. She remained in this role until 2011, focusing on domestic politics and relations between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia.
In January 2011, Mostova became the editor-in-chief of the weekly "Zerkalo Nedeli. Ukraina."
Personal Life
Mostova was married to Alexander Razumkov until his passing in 1999. They had a son, Gleb Razumkov, born in 1998. In her subsequent marriage to politician Anatoliy Grytsenko, she gave birth to a daughter, Anna Grytsenko, in 2004.
Recognition and Awards
Mostova has received numerous awards for her contributions to journalism, including three "Person of the Year" awards for "Best Journalist of the Year" (1996, 1997, 1999) and two "Prometheus-Prestige" awards (1998, 1999). She was also awarded the Golden Medal of Ukrainian Journalism in 2018.
