Early Life and Education
Born into a peasant family, the Ukrainian Soviet politician began his political career as Head of the Strusov District Committee of the LKSMU of the Ternopil Oblast (1948-1952), followed by the position of 2nd Secretary of the Buchach District Committee of the LKSMU (1952). He became a member of the VKP(b) in 1951.
In 1952, he served as Director of a secondary school before enlisting in the Soviet Army (1952-1954).
Party Activities and Military Service
Upon his return from military service, he held positions as an instructor and staff propagandist for the Buchach District Committee of the CPU of the Ternopil Oblast (1954-1955). He then served as 1st Secretary of the Buchach District Committee of the LKSMU (1955-1960) and Deputy Head of a Department of the Ternopil Oblast Committee of the LKSMU.
In 1960, he became 2nd Secretary and later 1st Secretary of the Kopychyn District Committee of the CPU of the Ternopil Oblast (1960-1962). During this time, he graduated in absentia from the Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute (now Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University).
Leadership Roles in Ternopil Oblast
From 1962 to 1965, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Chortkiv Production and Collective-State Farm Administration of the Ternopil Oblast. He then became 2nd Secretary of the Gusyatin District Committee of the CPU (1965-1971) and 1st Secretary of the Pidvolochysk District Committee of the CPU (1971).
In 1971, he was appointed 2nd Secretary of the Ternopil Oblast Committee of the CPU, a position he held until 1983. He graduated in absentia from the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU.
Later Career and Retirement
After leaving his political career, he served as Director of the Vinnytsia Seed Plant from 1983 to 1998. He then retired to the city of Vinnytsia.
