Military Career of a Ukrainian General
Early Life and EducationThe future General was born into a military family in Mariupol, Ukraine, in 1988. He graduated from high school in 1988 and attended the Sumy Higher Artillery Command School from 1988 to 1992.
Commanding the 25th Air Assault Brigade
In 2007, he was appointed Commander of the 25th Air Assault Brigade. During his tenure, he led the brigade through five months of intense combat during the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the Donbas region.
Leadership Roles
In 2015, he became the First Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Airborne Assault Forces. He received his military command qualification at the operational-strategic level in the same year. In 2018, he was appointed Commander of the Ukrainian Marines and was promoted to Lieutenant General.
Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
On February 11, 2024, he was appointed Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this role, he oversees all military operations, including the ongoing conflict in the Donbas.
