Early Life and Education
Zoran Žižić was born in 1951 in Titograd (now Podgorica), the main city of Montenegro. He pursued his higher education at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Law, where he obtained his master's degree.
Political Career
Žižić's political journey began in 1989 after the collapse of the one-party system in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY). From 1990 to 1997, he served as Vice President of Montenegro.
Premiership of Yugoslavia
In 2000, after the overthrow of Slobodan Milošević, Žižić was chosen as the Prime Minister of Yugoslavia. As a Montenegrin, his appointment met the constitutional requirement that the Prime Minister should be from Montenegro.
Priorities as Prime Minister
As Prime Minister, Žižić prioritized Yugoslavia's reintegration into the international community. He sought external aid to rebuild the economy and provide social support for the population. Additionally, he aimed to foster stable relations between Serbia and Montenegro.
