Early Life and Education

Zoran Zoran Mihajlović was born in 1970 in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She graduated from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Economics in 1993 and obtained her PhD in Energy and Economics in 2001. In October 2011, she became an associate professor and pro-rector for scientific affairs at the John Naisbitt University, where she has been a professor since 2016.

Professional Career

Mihajlović's professional career began at the First Professional School of Economics in Belgrade. She subsequently worked at Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) - Elektroistok from 1995 to 2006.

Advisor to Government Officials

From 2004 to 2006, Mihajlović served as energy advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Miroliub Labus in the Government of Serbia (2004-2005) and as a member of the board of directors of the state-owned enterprise EPS. From 2006 to 2010, she was an advisor on energy efficiency to the CEO of Nikola Tesla Airport.

Serbian Government Roles

From 2010 to 2012, Mihajlović was an advisor on energy to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska. From 2012 to 2014, she served as Serbia's governor at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). In 2012, she was appointed Minister of Energy, Development, and Environmental Protection. From 2014 to 2020, she was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure.

During her tenure at the Ministry of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure, Serbia rose from 186th to 9th place in the World Bank's "Doing Business" ease of obtaining construction permits ranking as a result of reforms implemented under her leadership.

Current Position

Since October 2020, Mihajlović has served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Mining and Energy.
