Biography of Zoya Osmolovskaya
Zoya Osmolovskaya, a Soviet and Belarusian theater and film actress, was born on March 1, 1928, in the city of Orsha, Vitebsk Oblast. In school, Zoya performed roles in the drama club, but before she entered the institute, she wanted to become a Russian language and literature teacher in the future. In 1952, she graduated from the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute.

Most of Zoya's life is directly connected to Minsk, except for the evacuation during the Great Patriotic War and the two years after graduating from the institute. During those two years, Osmolovskaya worked at the Grodno Regional Drama Theater, where she met her future husband, Yuri Sidorov. Their daughter, Elena Sidorova, is an actress at the National Academic Theater named after Yanka Kupala.
Zoya Vasilievna also participated in television and radio performances. From September 14, 1954, she worked at the National Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gorky.
She passed away on April 30, 2012, at the age of 84 in Minsk. Zoya Osmolovskaya was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Belarusian SSR in 1982. In 2001, she received the Prize for "Best Female Role" at the "Molodechno Sokovitsa" festival for her role in the play "I Want to Live."
