Early Life and EducationAbraham Rubin Hercules Benrubi was born on October 4, 1969, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is the eldest son of radio personality Asher Benrubi, known as "Smash." Abraham attended high school in Indianapolis, where he shared his alma mater with comedian and talk show host David Letterman and New England Patriots player Roosevelt Colvin.
Breakout Roles and Television Success
Benrubi's first major role was as Roy "R.J." Biggins Jr., the gay son of Roy Biggins, on the sitcom "Wings." He appeared in two episodes during the show's third and sixth seasons. His breakout role came in "Parker Lewis Can't Lose," where he played Francis Lawrence Kubiawsk III, also known as Larry Kubiak or Cube. During the show's hiatus between its first and second seasons, Benrubi and co-star Taj Johnson worked as celebrity guests and roadies for the band No Doubt's first tour.
Benrubi landed a starring role as Ben Tomasson, a bartending millionaire, in ABC's "Men in Trees."
