Biography of Adrian Cavean Pasdar

Adrian Cavean Pasdar, an American actor and film director, was born on April 30, 1965, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA. He is known for his roles in the TV series "Profit" and the movies "Near Dark" and "Mysterious Ways". He played the role of Nathan Petrelli in the TV series "Heroes" and directed the crime drama "Cement".

Early Life and Education

Adrian Pasdar attended Marple Newtown Senior High School in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. After graduating, he received a scholarship to the University of Florida and an invitation to play as a midfielder in the American football team. However, during his first year of college, Pasdar was involved in a car accident that caused serious injuries. He had to undergo intensive physiotherapy while continuing his studies. Pasdar still bears scars from the accident on his face.

Career in Acting and Directing

Unable to continue playing football, Pasdar decided to focus on acting. He developed a passion for the craft and even started writing scripts for some theatrical productions. He left college and found work as part of the set design team at the People's Light and Theatre Company. Unfortunately, Pasdar suffered another accident, losing almost half of his left thumb. With the compensation he received, he enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York.

His first on-screen appearance was in the music video "Goodbye Earl" by the Dixie Chicks. He then went on to star in movies such as "Solarbabies" in 1986 and "Streets of Gold" in 1986. In 1987, Pasdar played the lead role of Caleb Colton in the cult vampire film "Near Dark" directed by Kathryn Bigelow. He also appeared in the film "Vital Signs" in 1990 and "Just Like a Woman" in 1992.

In 1999, Pasdar directed his first feature film, "Cement," a modern adaptation of the play "Othello" by Justin Monjo. The film had a budget of $1.7 million and starred Chris Penn, Jeffrey Wright, Sherilyn Fenn, and Henry Czerny. "Cement" received an award at an international film festival in Houston in 2000.

Pasdar has dedicated his energy and resources to his projects, stating, "I put every ounce of my energy and every cent I made into making 'Cement'."
