Early Career and Political RiseAhmad Rithauddeen is a renowned Malaysian politician, statesman, and diplomat. He is a prominent member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and has held various high-ranking positions throughout his career. From 1965 to 1990, he served as a Member of Parliament for Kelantan, and from 1969 onwards, he was a Member of the Malaysian Parliament.
Ministerial Roles
In the 1970s and 1980s, Rithauddeen held several ministerial positions in different governments. Notably, he served as Minister with Special Functions for Foreign Affairs (1973-1975), Minister of Information (1974-1975), Minister of Foreign Affairs (1975-1981, 1984-1986), Minister of Trade and Industry (1981-1984), and Minister of Defense (1987-1990).
Leadership and Legacy
Since 2001, Rithauddeen has been the Chairman of the UMNO Disciplinary Board. He also holds the position of President of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). Rithauddeen's contributions to Malaysian politics, diplomacy, and international affairs have left a lasting imprint on the country's history and development.
