Mohammed Gomma: A Journey Through Egyptian Football

Early Years and Gazl El-Mahalla

Mohammed Gomma, an Egyptian forward, began his professional career at Gazl El-Mahalla in 2004. After spending four years in the reserve team, he was promoted to the first team. However, after one season at the professional level, Gomma mutually terminated his contract with the club.

El-Raja and El-Mansoura

In 2009, Gomma joined El-Raja, where he played for two seasons. He helped the Mersa Matruh-based team avoid relegation to the Egyptian Second Division in the 2010/11 season.

In 2011, Gomma signed a three-year contract with El-Mansoura for 400,000 Egyptian pounds. He scored his debut goal on November 17 of that year against Baladeyiet El-Mahalla. He tallied 4 goals in 7 matches in his first season, but all football competitions in Egypt were suspended by the Egyptian Football Association after the Port Said Stadium riot.

Gommaa finished his second season as the club's top scorer with 16 goals in 25 matches. He defended his title as top scorer in his third season, scoring 6 goals in 19 appearances. On May 12, 2014, Gomma scored his last goal for El-Mansoura against Ittihad Nabrough.

Al-Masry and Loan to Ittihad El-Shorta

On July 22, 2014, Al-Masry announced the signing of Gomma on a three-year contract. On January 14, 2015, Ittihad El-Shorta announced the signing of both Gomma and his teammate Eliasou Issaka on loan until the end of the 2014/15 season. Gomma scored 4 goals in 20 matches for the Cairo-based club.
