Alain Chabat is a French actor, director, and screenwriter. He was born on November 24, 1958, in Oran, Algeria. In 1963, his family moved from Algeria to Massy, a town near Paris, France. Chabat showed intelligence and a passion for creativity from a young age, but he struggled with traditional education. He attended twelve different schools during his seven years of education. However, he found his true interests in comics and rock music, eventually pursuing a career as a radio DJ.

Chabat's talent was noticed by Pierre Lescure, a television producer, who hired him as a weather forecaster for Canal+. However, Chabat's ambitions led him to explore other opportunities. In the early 80s, he co-founded the comedy group "Les Nuls" with Bruno Carette, Chantal Lauby, and Dominique Farrugia. Their parodies gained popularity, and they were well-received by the audience.

In 1989, "Les Nuls" became a trio after Carette passed away. In 1994, they wrote the screenplay for the comedy film "La Cite de la peur, une comedie familiale," in which all three members starred. He also directed and acted in the film, which became a huge success worldwide. It became the most expensive French film ever made with a budget of 45 million euros and had over 14 million viewers in France, making it the highest-grossing French film.

Chabat's next film, "RRRrrrr!!!" in 2004, received mixed reviews. However, he maintained close friendships with renowned French directors such as Gad Elmaleh, Kad and Olivier, Laurent Baffie, and Ivan Attal, who frequently cast him in their films.
