Alexander Kuznetsov: A Biography
Alexander Kuznetsov was a Soviet, Russian, and American actor, director, screenwriter, producer, and educator. He was born on December 2, 1959, in Petrovka, Primorsky Krai. His life and career were fascinating and diverse.

Early Life and Education
During his school years, Alexander showed an interest in music and even graduated from a music school. In 1976, he enrolled in the Moscow Aviation Institute, specializing in "Radioelectronics of Aircraft." During his university years, he also started performing actively in amateur theater. After completing five years of education at the Moscow Aviation Institute, Alexander was almost finished with his degree but decided to withdraw and instead entered the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in 1981. In 1985, he successfully completed his studies at this prestigious institution, graduating from the course taught by T. K. Kopteva and V. V. Ivanova.
Acting Career
Alexander Kuznetsov began his acting career with small roles in the theater, serving at the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya from 1983 to 1989. His talent and acting skills stood out in performances such as "The Loving Kolya" and "Two Arrows." He also performed at the Theatre of Film Actors in a production of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull," where he played the role of Trigorin. However, Alexander Kuznetsov gained true fame in the world of cinema.
In 1981, he made his first steps in front of the camera and in 1983, he played his first leading role in the musical comedy film "Unbelievable." This role brought him wide recognition and became his calling card in his career.
Another significant work was his leading role in the film "Jack Vosmyorkin - 'The American'" (1986) directed by Yevgeny Tatarsky, where Alexander played Jack (Yakov) Vosmyorkin and gained popularity. The film told the story of a former orphan who returned from America to his native village to fulfill his dream of becoming a farmer. Additionally, Alexander Kuznetsov successfully played roles in films such as "Primorsky Boulevard" (Sasha Ermolenko), "Nightmare in a Madhouse" (Victor), "Lawlessness" (Senior Lieutenant Kasimov), and "Alaska Kid" (Stein).
International Recognition
In the early 1990s, the actor received invitations to Hollywood and appeared in several projects, including "Beverly Hills, 90210," "JAG," "V.I.P.," "Demolition Man," "Space Cowboys," "The Peacemaker," "24," and "Lucky." He also made a guest appearance in an episode of the TV series "Santa Barbara." In 1992, he appeared in a music video for the band "Extreme - Rest In Peace." Alexander Kuznetsov decided to move to the United States, where he founded the International Actors School. He developed his own teaching method based on the systems of Konstantin Stanislavski and Mikhail Chekhov and instructed both aspiring and professional actors, directors, and screenwriters.
Teaching and Entrepreneurship
Since 2009, Alexander Kuznetsov also taught at the Moscow Art Academy named after Boris Shchukin, offering courses in both Russian and English. He collaborated with companies such as Oratorika, Adconsult, and the School of Oratory Art "The King Speaks!" specializing in training sessions on "Acting Techniques in Public Speaking, Presentations, and Negotiations" and "What Can I Learn from Hollywood Stars to Become a Star in My Business?"
Alexander Kuznetsov was a well-known figure in the world of cinema and television, as well as an active participant in the Russian cultural scene. He founded the Moscow International Film School "Kuznitsa Kino i Televideniya" and collaborated with the real-life gaming TV channel "Where and Who," launching the weekly reality show "Kuznitsa Kino." In the 2000s, he actively appeared in Russian TV series and took on minor roles. In addition to his acting career, he also worked as a film director and producer.
Personal Life and Legacy
Alexander Kuznetsov was married three times. His first wife was Lyudmila Dmitrievna Sobko, also an actress, and they had a son named Daniil Sobko, who is currently a businessman residing in Los Angeles. His second wife was actress Yulia Rutberg, and they had a son named Grigory Kuznetsov. After Alexander's emigration to the United States, his son Grigory lived with him. Grigory received education at the International Institute of Advertising, attended the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute (3 courses), and also appeared in films. In 2012, Grigory had a son, whom they also named Grisha.
In 2014, Alexander Kuznetsov's life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with advanced-stage prostate cancer. He underwent surgery to remove the tumor and subsequently received radiation therapy. Despite treatment, his condition did not improve significantly, and he sought alternative methods of healing. He traveled to Brazil, where he learned about a place called Abadiania, where John of God helped people heal from various illnesses. There, he underwent a course of spiritual healing, and upon returning to Moscow, his test results significantly improved.
Alexander Kuznetsov began to change his attitude towards his illness, considering it as a divine challenge that motivated him to reassess his life and values. He also shared that the tumor in his body had developed due to an excess of testosterone. Alexander Kuznetsov passed away in the United States on June 6, 2019. He was 187 centimeters tall.
