Early Career

Alexei Vyacheslavovich Skvernyuk, a Belarusian footballer, was born in Minsk on October 13, 1985. He played as a midfielder for Belarusian football clubs.

Krylia Sovetov

In 2004, Skvernyuk joined Krylia Sovetov Samara from Zvezda-VA-BGU Minsk. Despite not making any appearances for the first team in 2004, he received a bronze medal at the Krylia Sovetov award ceremony in January 2005 for the team's third place finish in the previous championship.

Contract Dispute and New Agreement

In February 2007, Skvernyuk filed a complaint with the Russian Football Union to obtain free agent status as his contract expired on February 2. On the same day that a hearing was scheduled, it was announced that Skvernyuk had signed a new two-year contract with Krylia Sovetov.

Russian Citizenship and International Debut

On August 2, 2007, Skvernyuk acquired Russian citizenship. He made his international debut for Belarus on November 18, 2007, against Albania in the UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying tournament.
